FtoM presents: DANCE EFFECT Concert 2013

In 2011, Aishy Vimal who was then 14, came across the Girl Effect foundation during a Geography project. Together with her sister Apshy who was then 15, they decided to help girls worldwide by raising awareness and funds for the foundation. Since they had been learning tap, ballet and modern dance from a young age, they choreographed a flash mob dance to their favourite Justin Bieber song, brought their friends and hundreds of people together, and danced in 4 major shopping malls. The media and public support was fantastic. The ‘Girl Effect Flash Mob’ was a huge success.

This time, these two teenagers are up to something bigger. It’s a night of dance to help raise funds for Girl Effect and five Malaysian charities.

Friends to Mankind is supporting their personal project and bringing together other humanitarian organisations, their goodwill ambassadors, philanthropists and corporations that actively engage in CSR activities; who will all come together to celebrate humanity. The event includes ‘spotlight’ on personal projects that inspire many.

This event is an invitation for everyone to do what they can, where they are.

18for18 Project Rescue 2.0 Skydive 2013

Australia: Aug 9th, 2013
New York: Aug 10th, 2013
Los Angeles: Aug 17th, 2013

Last year 18for18 had a simple goal; raise $70,000 by skydiving 18,000ft to help the fight against sex trafficking.

This year we are trying to raise $100, 000, what does that mean?

$100,000 can fund 2 years of costs for rescue missions in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos, where girls as young as 2 years old are being pulled from the brothels.

These women and children have no real support system on the outside, making escape or rescue almost impossible.

Our goal is to make sure that no woman or child reaches out for help and can't receive it due to lack of fundings.

Art In the Park

Art In the Park is a free event for children ages 6 months to school aged. Art is important for children especially during their early development. Research shows that art activities develop brain capacity in early childhood; in other words, art is good for the brain. Art engages children’s senses in open-ended play and develops cognitive, social-emotional and multi-sensory skills.

Our goal & mission is to support the children to express themselves freely and create their very own unique art forms. We provide all the materials and supplies... and we hold the space for the children to come to their own creative nature through art. Art In the Park is a world of YES! It is a place just for you to be YOU! Please come and join us.

*IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. Parents must remain present while their child participates at Art In The Park
2. Please bring children dressed in appropriate clothing (clothes they can get dirty in)
*we will only be using non toxic, washable & child safe art supplies... but just in case

BECOME A FRIEND TO MANKIND

Mission Statement:

Friends to Mankind (FtoM) is an international non-profit organisation that works with individuals, corporations and philanthropic organizations towards the betterment of humanity. Focusing on finding creative ways to raise funds and awareness for other like minded non profits that fit the Friends To Mankind ethos, we are building a family of people saying "Yes, I am a Friend to Mankind" and we are doing what we can, where we are.

Currently we are building a database of "Friends" that we will use to map out our new community across the world. By the end of 2013 we hope to have over 1,000,000 friends worldwide, and ask you to join us. Our goal is to build a global, user-friendly database allowing people across the world to easily click a location that they either live in, or traveling to, and find out how they can help.

Whether locally or abroad, a single click will put generous people in touch with organizations that need them. From local schools that need text books, or old electronics, to helping a Southeast Asian village provide shelter for victims of sex-trafficking, it will never have been easier to make a difference.  Sign up today and become part of our "Friends to Mankind" family, and do what you can where you are.
